As soon as we reached the finish line for the 2011 year, which we were very pleased with, we were once again in the starting blocks for a new season, this time 2012...

The 2011 harvest was the earliest we have seen in the last 12 years at Ornellaia. The grapes managed to stand up well to the heat wave that blanketed us during the month of August, succeeding in preserving all of their quality potential. We finished picking the whites--Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier--on 24 August, and we immediately turned our attention to the reds, the first of which were young merlot vineyards and some others that tend to show the heaviest crops...
